An observant nurse named Fran Orth acted on her instincts and arranged for a premier neurosurgeon named Dr. Luis Cervantes to perform a risky surgery that saved Robert’s life.
Robert faced intensive rehabilitation and setbacks that included meningitis which required surgery to transfer a portion of his stomach to the frontal lobe of his brain. Robert was left completely blind and with total loss of smell and taste.
Through his Flowering Warrior spirit and love of life, Robert overcame this tragedy.
Many years of studying Korean Martial Arts and a love for life
allowed Robert to move forward. Robert holds a 6th degree Black
Belt by the North American Sin Moo Hapkido Federation. Today he
is the President and CEO of a corporation that employs over 800
people and he is the Chairman of the Washington State Business Enterprise
Program. He is also the co-author of his biography Certain
Victory, which has become a story that has
helped people overcome daily & extreme challenges faced throughout
one's lifetime.
Robert, along with his lovely wife Kimberly, are the proud parents
of Savannah Ott. He is well known as a leader, teacher and a student of life
who shares his comeback story of overcoming personal challenge.
